Im new to tribe.net but the first thing I thought of is connecting with all my fellow pirates. I just think its a great idea to learn from others and to teach others as well about pirateing.. But now for a tip.. I hope i am not to bold in giving one this early without further researching your backgrounds.. but hey.. here goes...

Ripping software is so abundent but teh best one I have ever found is actualy free. I highly recomend DDump... although using the "Run" function of windows might seem a bit weird and most are used to gui's for their ripping... this program is the best of the best... It will rip just about any cd you can think of. It is sometimes slower then other programs of this type but its worth the abilities it has in finding what protection your cd has. Also there are a slew of options to speed the process up if you know what protection the cd has...
I hope this helps someone out... cya...

I use cdparnoia mostly, but it is a Unix tool. The big advantage to cdparanoia is the great pains it takes to recover from scratched discs.

In windows, I use QCD (www.quinnware.com), also free. That program has been pretty handy for bulk mp3 file renaming, too.

One thing I've noticed recently is SACD hybrid discs confuse some dvd/cd drives. If you try to rip one of those, better to use a cd drive that doesn't also do dvds.
